Find economical luxury in our bright, beautifully furnished 1-bedroom apartment in the Irvington Historic District, close to the NE Broadway shopping and dining area, well served by Tri-Met transit, and in a gorgeous neighborhood. You'll like the new construction, modern appliances, super comfy beds, and conveniences like a Keurig coffee maker, WiFi, and two TVs with Comcast cable.

● 750 square foot, one bedroom apartment in the ground floor of a 1905 vintage Craftsman Style home. Unit was built new in 2017.
● Sleeps 4, two in the California King bed in the bedroom and 2 in the deluxe Queen size Comfort Sleeper sofa by American Leather Company in the living room. Deluxe linens for both
● Dining area seats 6 comfortably
● Spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, high-end soaps, shampoo, and body lotion, pull-out cosmetics mirror, and hair dryer – and lots of fluffy towels.
● Fully equipped kitchen with top quality appliances: electric range, microwave, Bosch dishwasher, L-G refrigerator, and Keurig coffee machine. All cooking utensils, silverware, and dishes are provided.
Washer and dryer in closet off the bedroom – iron and ironing board supplied.
● Plenty of closet and storage space.
● Mobility friendly: Flat path to the front door, then just three steps down from the street into the unit. Grab bars and fold-down seat in shower.
● Access to outdoor dining area and gas grille during warm months.
● 55” curved screen smart TV in the living room with ComCast cable service and hundreds of channels. Netflix available for guests with their own login ID and password

Meet the Hosts
We are Robert Mercer and Jim Heuer, long-time residents of Portland and owners of our house for 20 years. We built out the once dreary basement space into a light, bright apartment in 2016, and started short term rentals in February, 2017.
We have travelled extensively and know what makes lodging comfortable and convenient for guests – and have put lots of effort into making the Quiet Retreat the kind of place we’d love to stay in ourselves.
Robert is a retired Portland State University administrator, who enjoys making our gardens and landscaping beautiful. You’ll likely meet him in the nice weather, tending to the garden.
Jim is half-retired from a long career in developing logistics and transportation software. Like Robert he has a love for historic architecture and a passion for pleasing our guests.
And Co-Hosts
Helping us make your stay with us really great are our Co-Hosts Ian and Malika. They too are SuperHosts of their own highly rated AirBnB unit and understand what a great guest experience is. Between the four of us we are available to respond to your questions and concerns 24X7. Likely you'll hear first from Ian with a welcome message and information on logistical details of your stay.
When you use AirBnB messaging to reach out to us, all of us see your message, insuring you get a response from us as quickly as possible. For guests staying for more than a week, Ian and Malika will help you arrange for optional mid-stay cleaning and other services.
